The American International School of Budapest (AISB) seeks to appoint a High School Psychology / Social Studies / TOK Teacher for 2027. August 1. start date.

Reports To: High School Principal

Position Overview:
AISB seeks an experienced High School IB Psychology and Social Studies Teacher to join our dynamic secondary faculty. The successful candidate has strong expertise in, and an ability to teach IB Diploma Psychology, Grades 9-10 high school social studies, and ideally another IB Group 3 subject,  and/or Theory of Knowledge (TOK). This role includes serving as a grade-level advisor to a group of 10–12 students.

Qualifications & Experience

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, History, Social Studies, or a related field (Master’s preferred)
  2. Valid teaching certification
  3. Recent experience and training in teaching IB DP Psychology or equivalent high-level IB courses (e.g., AP, IGCSE) and high school social studies courses
  4. Demonstrated experience in advisory and community service programs

Preferred Skills & Experience

  1. Familiarity and/or experience working with the C3 Framework or similar (e.g., MYP)
  2. Recent IB training and experience in the relevant courses and fields
  3. Ability to teach a second IB Group 3 subject to IB or equivalent level
  4. Ability to teach Theory of Knowledge (TOK)
  5. Certification or experience supporting English Language Learners (ELL)
  6. Proficiency with educational technology and curriculum management platforms (e.g., Veracross, Google Apps, Atlas Rubicon).
