The American International School of Budapest (AISB) seeks to appoint an Elementary School After School Activities Coordinator part-time with an immediate start date.

Position Overview

The Elementary School After School Activities Coordinator leads the planning, administration, and delivery of the Elementary School After-School Activities (ASA) program. The coordinator ensures the program is well-organized, accessible, engaging, and aligned with the school’s goals for student learning, well-being, and experiential learning. Working hours are generally four hours a day, late afternoon to early evening (approx. 2:00-6:00 p.m.).

Key Responsibilities

Program Management

  1. Plan, coordinate, and evaluate the ASA program, including activities, schedules, facilities, rosters, and enrollment.

  2. Develop a diverse and age-appropriate range of activities that reflect student interests and support school priorities.

  3. Manage registration, attendance, records, and day-to-day program logistics.

  4. Ensure appropriate safeguarding, supervision, health, and safety procedures are followed.

  5. Manage and maintain a budget

Providers and Partnerships

  1. Recruit, onboard, coordinate, and support internal and external activity providers.

  2. Ensure providers understand and meet school expectations, policies, and procedures.

  3. Monitor the quality and effectiveness of activities and address operational or performance concerns.

  4. Liaise with the transportation company to ensure safe transport

Communication

  1. Serve as the primary contact for families, students, teachers, and activity providers regarding the ASA program.

  2. Provide clear, timely information about activities, schedules, registration, expectations, and changes.

  3. Respond professionally to questions, concerns, and feedback.

Student Experience and Development

  1. Promote an inclusive program that provides meaningful opportunities for students to explore interests, develop skills, build relationships, and have fun.

  2. Monitor participation and feedback to identify barriers, respond to student needs, and improve access and engagement.

  3. Use participation data and feedback to evaluate and continuously improve the program.

  4. Collaboration and Alignment

  5. Work closely with the Experiential and Extended Learning Principal and relevant school departments to ensure effective coordination and alignment.

  6. Strengthen connections between ASA and the school’s wider experiential and extended learning opportunities.

  7. Contribute to the development of efficient systems and processes that enhance the coherence and quality of the program.

Qualifications and Experience

  1. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification; relevant experience in education, youth programming, administration, or a related field preferred.

  2. Experience coordinating extracurricular, enrichment, or youth programs, preferably in an international school setting.

  3. Strong organizational, administrative, and digital skills, with excellent attention to detail.

  4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.

  5. Experience working with elementary-aged students and an understanding of their developmental needs.

  6. Ability to manage multiple priorities, anticipate challenges, and solve problems effectively.

  7. Commitment to inclusive, engaging, and developmentally appropriate student experiences.

  8. Proactive, flexible, collaborative, and solutions-oriented approach.

  9. Proficient in oral and written English

  10. Proficient in oral and written Hungarian preferred

  11. Technology literate in Web Applications, Google Applications, Excel, and other current trends in the field of technology
