Project Highlights

AISB solves the space crisis.

In August 2000 students in grades 3 - 12 moved into their new 16,000 m2 school facility in Nagykovacsi.
While this might not solve the world's space crisis, it will solve the space crisis at the American International School of Budapest.

Since 1973 AISB, a non-profit school facility, has offered the most advanced & complete curiculum to students from 50 countries around the world. Our High School is proud to be the first international school in Eastern Europe to offer the International Baccalaureate (IB) Program.

This fall AISB entered its seventh year of offering Diploma and certificate Courses. For the 2000/2001 school year AISB will open the doors to its new facility located on 10 hectares in Nagykovacsi which is a 20 minute drive from Moszkva ter and served by excellent public transportation. It has been designed to accommodate more than 500 students in Grades 3 - 12 with a core facility for 700 students.

The Upper Elementary, Middle and High Schools will be in separate sections of the 16,000 m2 building. In addition to the modern classrooms, there is:

a library, 3 computer rooms, cafeteria, theater (350 seats), black box theater, 25m pool, 4 tennis courts, double sized gym, auxiliary gym, 2 outdoor basketball courts, baseball diamond, 2 soccer fields, rubberized track, elementary playground area, weight-training room, 2 music rooms and a drama room.

Our younger students Pre-Kindergarten (4 years before Oct. 15) through Grade 2 will remain in the excellent facilities in the current Lower School building in the 12th district.
