The IB and AISB

The American International School of Budapest is proud to be the first international school in Eastern Europe to be officially approved and authorized by the International Baccalaureate Organization to offer the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme. In the fall of 2007, AISB will enter its fifteenth year of offering diploma and certificate courses. The IB has great value for college-bound students taking individual subjects (certificates similar to Advanced Placement) and to those taking the full program (diploma). North American and other universities often award college credits for scores of 5 and higher in specific subjects.

The IB curriculum can be also taken for AISB credit toward the AISB diploma. These courses are open to any interested students who have demonstrated the ability to be successful in a demanding academic setting. The IB courses are rigorous; our guidance counselor and IB coordinator will advise parents and students on appropriate course selections. Students and parents should be aware that they will be required to pay additional IB fees to cover examination administration during their senior year.
