The International Baccalaureate (IB) Program
The IB program is a comprehensive and rigorous
two-year curriculum, leading to certificates in individual
subjects or a full IB diploma.
The International Baccalaureate provides an international
pre-university curriculum and an international university
entrance qualification. Following two years of college equivalent
study, students earn their certificates or diploma after sitting
for culminating IB exams in May of their senior year. The
IB program is a deliberate combination of the specialization
required in some national systems as well as breadth within
all subject areas.
The general objectives of the IB program are:
|
*
|
To improve and extend international education and so promote
international understanding through a shared academic experience
|
|
*
|
To facilitate geographic and cultural mobility for students
in the international community
|
|
*
|
To work in collaboration with national educational systems
to develop a rigorous, balanced and innovative international
curriculum.
